General educational information

Vehicle Verity provides general informational and educational material about starting, charging, electrical, ignition and OBD-II problems. It is not a substitute for direct inspection, the vehicle manufacturer's instructions or advice from a qualified automotive professional.

Vehicles are different

Behavior and safe procedures can vary by year, generation, engine, trim, key system, electrical architecture, prior repairs and local conditions. A diagnostic path described in an article may not apply to every vehicle, and an online explanation cannot see the vehicle in front of you.

Diagnosis is not a guarantee

Electrical, mechanical, fuel, ignition, security and electronic faults can overlap. A symptom, scan code or suggested test does not guarantee that a particular component is faulty or that a suggested path will identify the cause. Verify information against the applicable vehicle documentation before acting.

Safety

Do not perform a procedure beyond your competence. Use appropriate safety equipment and follow manufacturer instructions. Stop if the vehicle is in traffic, the battery or wiring is damaged, a component is hot or moving, a security system needs programming, or the required access is unsafe or unclear.

Professional and emergency help

Use a qualified automotive professional when the diagnosis requires specialist equipment, programming, lifting, energized-circuit work or a level of certainty you cannot obtain safely. Vehicle Verity does not provide emergency roadside assistance. For an immediate hazard or unsafe roadside situation, contact the appropriate local emergency or roadside service.
